Attack of the Crab Monsters

An irresistibly cheap '50s classic. Genuinely suspenseful in places, with Corman achieving an air of menace not even negated by the fact that the crab monsters are just about the stupidest creatures ever to scuddle across the screen on visible sneakers -- one of the sneaker wearers is rumored to be Jack Nicholson!

It's not easy to rate this one; chances are Attack of the Crab Monsters will meet very few criteria one would use to rank a film, however, the title and poster should be able to tell you what you're in for: a classic low-budget 50's sci-fi flick, which basically means that if you can't enjoy scoffing and smirking at stiff characters, retarded dialogs, immense plotholes, improvised props, and an abundance of other common B-film flaws, this modest gem probably isn't for you.

Awesome Roger Corman monster movie. The crab monster is really neat.
