Not so much a character study as a relationship study, I appreciated the careful avoidance of gay romantic clichés and big drama. However, despite reasonably detailed characterizations in the script, the actors weren't quite up to embodying them, instead resorting to tics & blank faces, so that the three leads registered as weird and/or nervous, and not fully engaged with one another. Some attempts at a consistent visual style failed to give weight to the proceedings.
