Ava

Chastain is utterly unconvincing as an action lead, and nothing about the rest of the film compensates. Boring and messy.

This is a drama with some spy elements but its a disappointing mix and a waste of all these actors. The fight scenes are badly edited, a cut every second to give the impression there's a real fight. Not acceptable nowadays. I would give it a miss.

With a mediocre story that's been told a few dozen times before, lackluster action, poor direction, and actors on autopilot--though I doubt anyone could have carried this, "Ava" is a wretched turd of a movie, and apparently not a very good assassin either.

Worst Farrell movie. Bad fight scenes, ridiculous plot, boring, stupid characters. Its like written by AI from all the worst cliches.

Jessica Chastain is very good here in the lead role. The script has some good moments and other parts of it are predictable. Overall I would recommend this movie.

Good actors, but what's the point ?

Jessica Chastain is a beautiful bad-ass in this sometimes sketchy plot. The fight scenes were exciting and dramatic but lacked logistical setup and were a bit choppy. Awesome good music, sound and camerawork. Fun to watch, but you have to turn your brain off just a little. Extra points for Jessica being hot as.... well you know. Worthwhile.

So disappointing, the acting is fine but there is just so much filler in this movie. It's a completely forgettable plot, a lot of character motivations make no sense. It's such a boring movie, absolutely do not recommend.

I need to know: do international assassination syndicates really have an app that shows the people they've offed with little red x's over their photos? That alone should have made me stop watching this nonsense.

Ava is an excellent hitman who conducts covert operations for the government. She travels around the world and her expertise consists of taking out, mostly, prominent names. When a job gets completely out of hand, Ava finds herself in a life-threatening situation. She is now being chased by her former employers.

Star-studded family bust-up that will leave you with a 'ho-hum' feeling.

complete mass, mismatch. with that body, she can't even run; forget about fighting. she's not even "cool" enough to play an assassin (not a C. Theron for example). but she can play pretty, homely girlfriends, wives, etc. other than that, the story is the usual bullshit, and without directoral skills.
