Away All Boats

A great heart-warming and heart-breaking sequence with Julie Adams in the second half of the film.

The movie spends a lot of time establishing dynamics between various characters but it never manifests towards anything. Even then, characterization is so vanilla it's hard to care anyway. For what it's worth, the film's attempts at capturing the mundanity of navy life is admirable as being in the military isn't constant explosions and excitement, but it doesn't exactly make the film engaging on its own when that's all it has to offer.
