B-Girl

Yes, the story's the same "talented outcast rises up, battles demons and wins competition" that we have seen in most female dance or male fighting movies. However B-Girl works because it's nice to see the minuscule-budget indie flick do the basics so well. There are no big name actors in this movie but bucketloads of talent in the cast & crew. The soundtrack is spot-on and the breakdancing moves spectacular and plentiful. Above all it's a warm-hearted film about family, hope and inner strength.
