It's not bad but given the talent available it shouold be better. And why can't there be a film in which a career woman DOESN'T want a baby? Also, the 'jokes' about Sigourney Weaver being too old for anything seem odd when she's been on screen cock-punching aliens.

This would have been infinitely better had Fey actually written the script herself. Unfortunately McCullers' script leaves plenty to be desired and the movie is carried largely by the appeal of its cast. Fey and Poehler are mostly great together here, and a great movie could (and will) be made to star this pair, but Baby Mama isn't it. Fey has set a high standard for herself through her own projects, and, barring a few good bits here, this falls way short. Still, the cast makes it worthwhile.

Average in every way. A decent enough way to spend an hour and a half, but nothing more. I expected more from Tina Fey (30 Rock is surprisingly funny, and I guess I expected the same standard applied here), but this was just....average, really is the only word I can think of for it.

Very disappointing in light of the awesomeness that is "30 Rock". Inoffensive, bland, generic and with very few laughs. The chemistry between Fey and Poehler is the only highlight. Tina Fey needs to either A) write her own roles or B) pick better ones.

One of the pleasant surprises of the year, "Baby Mama" actually is rather smart and funny, a little offbeat and conventional, but still pretty consistent in the laughs department. It also helps that Tina Fey does so well in the lead role opposite the rambunctious Amy Poehler. Fey really carries the movie and Steve Martin and Dax Shepherd provide solid humorous supporting characters. In light of Juno, Knocked Up, and Waitress - "Baby Mama" fits right in the baby comedy line-up.

You don't know my life bitch! Oh man I don't usually like Amy Pohler and have never watched 30Rock, but Fey and her somehow were able to surprise me with a lot of their stupid humor. I mean the whole American Idol video game was pretty funny too. My date didn't fall asleep during it either which was a plus, too. Now the story itself was stupid and really made little sense, so that hurts the score. And Carlton as a bellhop... Go back to growing plants! Oh and please don't waste Steve Martin.

It's a well-known fact that any crappy movie will automatically be made better if has either Tina Fey or Amy Poehler in it, but the two of them togetehr can still only elevate this to a just-tolerable level.

I love Tina Fey (via 30 Rock) as much as all comedy nerds, but despite she and Poehler this plays out largely like a tepid, blown-up sitcom episode, and since Fey wasn't involved in the writing, not a particularly great one. It's inoffensive and even likable at points from the strength of the two leads, but it's just not very funny either.

It's haphazard and messy. Sometimes it bears the rushed quality of filmmakers disinterested in their own project. It's also just funny enough to merit attention. Fey and Poehler clearly know how to play off of each other and their scenes together have a snap that's often missing when one of them has to wander away from the partnership to play a scene with someone else.

I can't really say I disliked it, but it was pretty damn mediocre. A few funny moments here and there, and nothing really bad, but there was nothing to really raise it above 'average sitcom' level.

Clichéd, tired, terribly paced. The characters are one-note and faceless. Nobody knows how to write for Tina Fey or Amy Poehler better than Fey herself; they should have let her. Both actresses have their moments, but I can count the number of times I laughed on one hand, and I was drunk. The writing is a sad imitation of the self-deprecating brand of humor Fey has made her own, and the unfunny caricatures Steve Martin and Sigourney Weaver are given are insults to both of them.

Baby Mama is mediocre, unoriginal and barely funny. Fey and Poehler's legendary chemistry is unimpressive, and the film is all the more disappointing with those names attached.

These two ladies always have great chemistry together that is fun and amusing, but this movie was definitely lacking in their usual flare. It's CUTE, but it isn't as good as it'd be had these ladies been able to write their own material. Worth seeing once, but that one time feels like enough in my opinion. Summary? Love these ladies, like the IDEA, but the actual script itself is bland.

This really wasn't as bad as I was expecting. It has a few jokes that made me laugh like a hyena (Will Forte's "I was in a bicycle accident that made my penis bigger" line) but overall it suffered from... um... not being written by Tina Fey.

Poehler is too adorable not to like. However, I wish this movie had been made a decade later so the two leads could have fallen in love rather than the cheese-tastic romantic liaisons.

Clichéd and predictable, in every way. I could see the "happy surprise ending" from a million miles away. And if you have seen the movie trailer, you've already seen every "gag" in this movie already. And to top it all, they've dragged the usually-dependable Steve Martin into this mess with a totally unneeded and humorless role.

I think this could have been so much better, given the cast. It fell short of its potential. There were laughs and some thoughtful moments, but the movie seemed toned-down, trending towards just doing lip service to the theme. Going through the motions.

Mistakes - 1) In every car scene in the movie that you look at Kate's glasses, you can see the green screen used reflecting off her glasses. 2) After Angie takes out the vitamin to drink the water, spits it out and says it's horrible, the vitamin is back in her mouth.

Fairly laboured comedy remains watchable thanks to its fine comic cast (and a side-splitting cameo from Weaver). Martin is also amusing as a new age guru, but his character is basically one-joke, and the screenplay never really capitalises on the comic premise, instead becoming bogged down in Poehler's half-hearted scheming; it may have worked better to follow through on the initial premise, or else make the expectant mother a genuine monster.

I was all about that SNL mid-2000s era life back around when I was in middle school and so this was where it was at for me. After finishing most of highschool and revisiting it, I felt a little less for it, but it's still fun nonetheless.

There is a lot of Baby Mama drama happening in this film and it was just meh. More meh than I expected from Poehler and Fey. Complete misfire on a solid enough premise. Most of it went wrong from a writing stand point. Just not enough love for the characters and not enough emotional commitment to their overall situations.

Fey and Poehler carry this comedy through some really weak spots. The conventional "romantic comedy" bits with Kinnear are completely unrelated to the rest of the movie, and Steve Martin playing the "wacky" new-Age boss was tired and derivative. Still, this movie could have been 90 minutes of a fat man pooping, but as long as Tina Fey shows up for the credits, it would get at least a 75 from me.
