Uneven, but generally entertaining comedy which feels a little too padded and aimless (even at 20m.) As always, Keaton's awesome stunt work is the highlight, with Arbuckle's mugging sometimes wearing out its welcome.

A few funny gags and nice stunts, but doesn't really add up to much. The stunts are the highlight, but they're nowhere near as mind-blowing as any later film Keaton would do.

Mildly amusing at times, nothing special

A mildly amusing short with the best parts being during the show.

Still more fun than truly funny but this is probably one of the better ones so far.

one of the better arbuckle/keaton shorts, it still pales in comparison to what keaton did when he held the reins.

Not one of Arbuckle's fanciest, but it's fun. Also, Buster Keaton gets to play witness to a much cheaper and safer version of the falling wall gag he'd make famous.

St. John was barely in this. I don't know what the deal was, but it's no surprise that he then went his own way (eventually to B-western obscurity). Even so, this is one of the funnier Arbuckle-Keaton collaborations.

This short takes a long time to set up the characters -- and then they're minimally used? Somehow, though, this felt like a more "complete" movie than most of the other shorts. Perhaps the highlight is the falling wall moment which Keaton would re-do a decade later.

Burlesque on film. Some jokes are fun, but all in all it's just average. This film is supposedly first comedy with color tints, but the version i saw was b/w.
