Underrated and deserving of a watch.

A miraculous hidden gem of a movie. Much like other Chinese cinema, regardless of it's merit, only a handful of people see it outside of China, even when they bring in international actors. It's an epic, sweeping, devastating, humbling experience to watch a movie about something so big that most westerners know next to nothing about, namely: The Second Sino-Japanese War. Rarely can I be so fully transported to a different time and culture. Hot damn, that was one hell of a great movie!
