Bad Fever

Chalk it up to another movie character that I wish I didn't relate to as much as I did. Stand up comedy do be like that

A more likable, albeit mumbling and clueless Rupert Pupkin meets a gritty young woman trying to survive via DIY sex videos. The filmmakers humanize both, without really pulling any punches and avoiding caricatures. Despite the bleakness and an uncomfortable moment (one that made me squirm almost as much as *Irreversible*, although completely different circumstances), I'd call this a feel-good Indy film, proving that simple, ordinary moments can be surprisingly touching.
