Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn

It takes a genius to do something this crazy, and Jude was always a genius, but has never gone this all-out crazy. It begins as a sparse social-realist anecdote about cyberharassment with both feet grounded in the 2020 pandemic (albeit boldly innovative photography), cuts to an essayistic but almost random montage reminiscent of Greenaway's more experimental works, then backflips into a green-and-red lit, vaguely Felliniesque farce. Oh, and it's full of hardcore pornography.

Sometimes I like a nasty film vomit. Desperate fable on the world now - from far-right to parents' hypocrisy about kids' 'innocence', from digital forms of hate and fascism invading every inch of our lives to fake news and conspiracy theories, mindless revisionism of history - and not exactly comic, but actually angry. Love digressive filmmaking of first section - shots end in ruins, building, brands -, like the essay one and have mixed feelings about the last - but the Gal Gadot finale is great

It is now my favorite Romanian film. I'm not taking any questions at this time, but this film so perfectly illustrates the absurdity of living in Romania, the noise, the maddening feelings, the cognitive dissonance, the 'won't somebody think of the children', the inability to reflect on oneself and on patriotism and the really fucked up history. It's bloody genius as far as I'm concerned.

First 'masked' film I've seen turns out to be a near masterpiece. Divided neatly into three chapters, the first eases you into this calamity, all the while using a lingering camera to cleverly comment on the aesthetic grossness of modern society (best example now may be littered masks). The second is a jaw-dropping montage that's as funny as it is alarming, opening up a world of opinions. The third is a brilliant dialogue, that culminates with a climax that's as audacious as you can get. Hot!
