Fairly ordinary for a family talking animal film. Tim Curry and Jennifer Tilly are pretty good as antagonists who work well together and come across as a weird couple who have fantastically freaky sex. The odd part is that the puppy mill, which would normally be a terribly grim and harrowing place, has been made into something more kid friendly akin to Peewees fun house or Willy Wonka while the Igor henceman dances about singing opera with puppies in his hands
