Bizarre hybrid film made by Australians for their local market and Americans for their money. Which unfortunately results in the impossible to place USAlien accent. The story is spread thin, each characters back story is so empty they were interchangeably expendable. There's no real finale either just a lead into what could be a setup for something bigger. This is a missed oppurtunity to whole heartedly adopt the piss-take genre, the writing and directing saved us from decent entertainment.

pretty decent shark movie in which you can actually relate to characters, some attack scenes are really well done...

I IMDb'd it and saw 'people trapped in a SUPERMARKET with a SHARK' and I was like 'COOLEST THING EVER'. But alas, not really. No tension, not enough gore, dramatic scenes that I couldn't have cared less about, characters with no personality and it so desperately wanted to be American that it even went to the extent that people kept randomly speaking in American accents which was distracting and weird. But still, there is a SHARK in a SUPERMARKET and people are killed. Mildly entertaining.

Would've loved this so much more if it was made before CGI. Teen about to be eaten by a shark, I scream "kid watch out he's going to bite!" Teen "they are going to bite" "Clean up in aisle 3" I'm drowned by the survivors as bait so they can escape

There was enough in there to be a decent shark film, especially given how serious it actually turned out to be, but a ridiculous and half-baked plot barely adds any intrigue to this. Coupled with some terrible acting and even worse CGI, this has all the hallmarks of a so-bad-so-good B-grade movie. The only problem is it isn't fully committed to that and results in a so-so film.

Unfortunately the best character got killed off too quickly and unsatisfyingly - or maybe he didn't and the others were just too bland. Probably. Either way I'm talking about that blond kid who was probably on Home and Away 'cause I know him from somewhere, so props to him, he was funny. I dunno, it wasn't anything special but it wasn't bad either.

It seems to be an unwritten law of the universe that there will only ever be one truly great shark film. Let's put it this way, this film is so dire that it's forcing me to reconsider the merits of 'Deep Blue Sea'. At least that was fun.

Tho overall not a terribly bad shark vs people movie.Tho the acting is decent, the scripting is sometimes ridiculously bad with some really annoying characters. The CG is quite crappy, and the ending laughable. But if your into shark movies or a general horror fan like me, id say check it out. Btw ,whats with all these Australian horror movies about things in the water that kill ( eg rogue?).Its nice to see some campy movies coming from down under, but it would be better to see some talent!

Has the good grace to feature some minority characters only to murder them all half way through the film. Other than that there's nothing really memorable not even a bit of decent Aussie Tits and Ass or funny scenes in this B-level schlock. The shark attacks aren't nearly as brutal or creative as they could have been either. The CGI is a big letdown too. If you're going to go B-movie I expect go for broke trash. This feels somehow restrained and too conventional of a cash in.

Not quite the 1/100 Criticker predicted I'd give 'Bait' but it would have scored higher if the characters hadn't been such cardboard cutouts and the faux awful American accents had been ditched. Needed a serious injection of humour in places too, given the subject of the film.

Not terrible for a shark movie, but not good either. Seeing the movie Plump Fiction earlier that day, any movie (shitty or good) is a masterpiece in comparison, so maybe I'm a bit inaccurate with this rating. Anyway, CGI not very good, drags a bit, but overal it's entertaining enough to get through it

A moderately interesting shark attack sequence at the beginning saved this from being a complete waste of time.

I started watching this without expectations. My only goal was to have something on tv when I play my guitar... Well, then I actually watched this. Not bad... and the characters were enough interesting. The very beginning sucked big time, specially the big "no..." after the second death. But after they get trapped, it gets better.

A decent Aussie flick that might be a little corny but still delivers the goods with a cast of likable characters & actors, and their struggle for survival.

Rather high production value for just another cheap shark movie. Shame about the bad CGI and how serious it actually tries to be.
