James Randi should add describing the plot of this movie to his $1,000,000 challenge contest thing.

An atrociously bad movie. The plot is retarded and the dialog is horrendous. The action sequences as so awfully shot and put together than what can normally give a bad action movie a moment or two of glory is completely missed here. While I can appreciate a movie as "so bad it's good" this movie goes from "so bad" to "so bad it's awful" to "cinematic cancer" to "cinematic genocide" in the first half hour. Needless to say never, ever see this. It IS just as bad as everyone says.

I remember watching this at my friend's house when we were in eighth grade and when it was over neither of knew anything that had happened in the last two hours. It was instantly forgettable, almost as if it was wiping our memories as we watched it telling us at the same time, subliminally, that everything Lucy Lui and Antonio Banderas would ever do after that would be terrible and that they were terrible people for being a part of this project.

Probably one of the worst action movies I've ever seen. The amount of flaws in this cannot be counted using fingers and toes!

lmao. I think the worst part is the faux-Zimmer/Gerrard style music interspersed with the Uwe Boll style heavy metal.

No - it's not as bad as the critics say. But, no; it isn't at all good either. Lucy Liu and Antonio Banderas fire a lot of guns and blow a lot of things up in a script that doesn't make a lot of sense (why are the FBI in Canada?). Nevertheless, the fight scenes are relatively well done - and while Banderas is wasted, Lucy Liu kick-flipping her way around with a MATRIX knock-off trenchcoat is eminently amusing. Best watched drunk and with friends.

Ridiculous and insulting film. It tries on literally no level and insults the intelligence of every person who sees it. 7 points to the pyrotechnics team that had to probably put a lot of time into blowing a lot of things up. Also, why is the title so stupid? No one knows who Ecks or Sever is? Also both those names are stupid.

The principle problem is that the film is not Ecks Vs Sever. It's Ecks and Sever work together to achieve a mutually beneficial goal - the death of someone else, who we're never really clear on why he's a bad guy or what he wants. There's something about genetics which was apparently important in the last 45 seconds of the film. The fight scenes were like test footage of the Matrix without any of the CGI or quick editing done yet. And most damning of all - somehow they made explosions boring.

This movie, I had thought, was going to be badass. It wasn't. It was retarded. I can't even imagine the type of people who would enjoy a movie like this.

The worst film ever made in history! Whoever likes this movie should undergo brain surgery. Horrible acting, plot, script, effects and even action! If you could go below 0, I would give it a negative 1000! This movie is that bad! Lucy Liu and Antonio Banderas together in one film? How is that going to work? Antonio and Liu are both horrible actors, and can't act to save their lives! It's just instantly forgettable, and I guarantee you that you'll fall asleep in the opening minutes. Just bad.

My god... I mean, low expectations be damned, this movie blew me away with its unapologetic shittyness... Shot in Vancouver, SET in Vancouver (thanks, KAOS) and is really just poorly-planned action scenes strung together with plot that I assume originated from monkey butts. When I tried to figure out what was going on in the movie, my brain farted.

Not sure why brickbats were out for this harmless, generic actioner entertainment; indistinguishable from any number of turn-of-the-millennium sound-and-fury action films, it still gets the job done with a degree of style; Banderas and Liu anchor the film nicely (if a bit impassively), and kinetic action scenes propel the audience through a senseless plot that provides a serviceable clothesline. Perhaps the hideous title didn’t help – stoking visions of prehistoric creatures engaged in battle!

Having watched this somewhere around twenty years ago, I don't remember much. Kinda recall some decent effects and maybe a good action scene or two and that's about it.

Not a remarkable entry in the world of bad movies. Does not have a lot going for it that makes it worth watching, unless you want to see Lucy Liu run super long distances and then get into fights without breaking a sweat.

Whoever was in charge of throwing cars around had fun. Antonio Banderas clearly didn't - he's so sad and I don't think it's acting - and Lucy Liu spent most of her time on screen looking like she was thinking about just how scathing she should be when she next talked to her agent.

Haunted by the mysterious death of his wife, Jeremiah Ecks (Antonio Banderas) has become a recluse, but the former FBI manhunter is blackmailed back into service to track down an unstoppable ex-DIA operative, code-named Sever (Lucy Liu), who has kidnapped the young son of the head of a secret committee of international security agencies.

For a director who abbreviates his name to 'Kaos', he makes a pretty mediocre and poorly choreographed action film. It's pretty minor and forgettable, how not to make an action movie or even to create individual action sequences. Only Antonio Banderas seems to have some prescience in this; he looks like he wandered onto the set with a hangover, but his charisma makes it work for the paper-thin character. Aside from that, there are far better films to dig up in this genre.

It's amazing that a film with this many explosions is this boring. Possibly because they used more slo mo than all the Matrix movies and the 300 combined. Looks like everyone was in it for the paycheck too as there's no great performances, and the music is kinda crap.

Apart from one scene, which I call "Lucy Liu vs the Swat team," this movie is horrendous. That scene however is awesome, and if you like martial arts movies should rent it just for that. Fast forward to the fight scene though, the rest of it is simply dreadful.
