At least they realized 10 minutes in that everyone hates found footage movies and reverted back to "regular" film making. And if that's the extent of my praise, we might have a problem, Houston. Unlike many who've seen this movie, I knew nothing about MK Ultra before watching it. And even now that I've seen it, I still have a hard time telling the difference between it, the refreshing MK Ice, the 40-calorie MK Light, and the cool, yet crisp MK Dry.

An interesting premise, reasonably well-executed at points, but undone to an extent with a slightly ropey script and filming choices. Ted Levine is always fun, and the rest of the cast were fine; don't think I really recognised many/any of them. It's seemingly based on the Lovecraft tale "From Beyond", but I remember enjoying that film of the same name more than this. I could probably do with giving this one another look.

A Hunter S Thompson character (cleverly named Thomas), MK ultra, number stations, DMT... Pretty much what you expect if a college freshman were forced to make a horror film. About as steady as one too. I don't know if Thomas' exit is trying to be humorous or what, but it was exploitative and tasteless. I wanted to like this movie but don't waste your time.

Suffers from a rather inept script, but overall it is a fun watch. It has a few nice jump-scares and the acting is adequate. I would've dropped the MK-ULTRA backstory entirely

Relatively rote and formulaic in terms of scares and story. The only thing that makes this any good is the backdrop of the MKULTRA experiments but even then it's almost entirely squandered. For the most part though you can probably tell every plot point and predict every scare from a mile away if you've seen a few recent horror movies.

Zaskakujaco poprawne aktorsko, ale pierwsza czesc filmu zwyczajnie przynudza. Za to druga - wciaga, bywa straszna i pozostawia z pozytywnym wrazeniem.

Was good, with a good concept, but feels empty. More could have went on, felt unfulfilling over all. But otherwise not bad and a great concept.

I've always been fascinated by MK Ultra, but frustrated at the lack of decent films regarding the project. Foolishly, I thought this might be interesting. I walked out in disgust around the halfway point. What a waste of fucking celluloid. I came back for the director Q&A, which I'm glad I did as he hilariously struggled with questions like "Why did you shoot in 3D?". Apparently this guy believes dark rooms are immersive. Please die.

I was in the mood for some conspiracy/horror but the sheer ugliness of the visuals -jiggling about like it was filmed at sea or something- repelled me. Didn't know it was supposed to be 3d

the narrative didn't do it for me, the idea's solid but the characters don't keep you engaged nor the imagery It feels like found footage would have fit this like a glove

decent level of mystery. no truly massive scares, but keeps a sense of dread and creepiness through the whole thing.

Well-acted conspiracy/mystery with some suspense. Nothing groundbreaking.

It has some mildly scary moments, but it was a dull bore overall. I was honestly expecting it to be more of a full-on mockumentary than whatever hybrid it is (not like that's necessarily bad, just not what I was hoping for). The topic they chose to center the film around is certainly interesting but the way it's shown is completely generic and uninspired.
