Barely Lethal

It's, like, a high-school rom-com, but like, with a girl who's a world-class assassin trained by that black guy who's in all the movies, so your boyfriend will, like, totally be cool with it. And like, omg, I can totally relate with a teenage white girl's struggle to be, like, accepted by other white girls. Like, nobody understands us, really. Like, yeah. Uh... Hm... Alright. I have no idea how fucking teenagers talk so I'll just stop right here before my account is banned.

Barely Lethal has a potentially intriguing premise that gets wasted on boring high school cliches and references to much better movies. Unless you loved the "assassin goes to high school" subplot of Kick-Ass 2 and wanted an entire movie based around that, skip Barely Lethal and watch something better, like The Breakfast Club or Mean Girls.

Hackwork. Wimpy acting, craven writing, godawful stuntwork, not a pair of balls in sight. Two lissome teenage assassins are stalking each other through a high school hallway, but instead of following them, we're stuck listening to the comedy relief supporting characters spout boring wisecracks. There's lots of tone-deaf shit like that happening here. Ditch it.

This film tries to be a teen comedy and an action movie at the same time. Unfortunately it does not do either genre very well. The actors do a good job but they can't overcome a script that is all over the place. Overall this movie is disappointing.

Has all the ingredients for a by-the-numbers high school comedy—a dopey lead, an elitist rival, a broadcast romance—but it's mixed with a butter knife and the end product is lumpy and uncomfortably bad.

Barely Lethal was a good comedy, action movie. Bringing in Samuel L. Jackson to star as the head of the spy agency seemed a little on the nose, but much of this movie was on the nose with it's references. Hailee Steinfeld was really good in this movie. I have never seen her in anything else so seeing her in this was a surprise. I will follow her career with some interest. Jessica Alba really phoned in her performance but she wasn't really supposed to be a main character.

The story is childish, the acting is horrible, the title is absolutely wrong, etc. etc. NOT a good one to watch. 22/100.

Teenage movie, lighthearted and lightheaded. It's mindless fun centered around coming of age.

Liseye gidip arkadaş ortamı edinir. Farklı oyuncular tarafından klişe izlemek bir yerden sonra sıkıyor. Yönetmen, referanslarını filmin başında gösteriyor. Ajan gençlik filmi. Filmin sonunda, mezuniyet balosu karışır. Ajan kızımız esas oğlanı alır. Oğlan geldi esas oğlan.

Only thing remotely interesting about Barely Lethal (2015) was Jessica Alba as a bad chick. But a stupid lazy plot about a trained assassin wanting to experience retarded high school life ruins anyone from taking this seriously, including the actors and behind the camera assistants involved.
