Bataan

Not bad for the day.

Pretty damn decent war story with good combat scenes. Also interesting in how it plays the race card like no modern American film would dare. The sheer HATRED shown for the Japanese is pretty disturbing, even if you're American yourself and glad the U.S. won the war. Another example of how they did things in these old pictures that you'll never, ever see again

Decent war film.

Grueling war story. Desperate hopelessness through-out and it just gets worse. Definitely a hard-hitting story to bring right in the middle of the war. Some killer moments with a lot of odd characters without hope surrounded by the enemy. However some of the authenticity gets lost within the studio atmosphere. Doesn't totally ruin it, for it's a claustrophobic experience to begin with. Doesn't stop Bataan from being a memorable war tragedy.
