Bats

Back in the day, my favorite derelict uncle saw a bat flying through the night sky and he told me this 'secret' trick for if you ever wanted to mess with a bat. Whistle at them. Supposedly, this fucked with their sonar and it could disorient them enough to cause them to crash into things...Cut to the two of us standing around outside whistling at this hairy flying mammal like some construction crew catcalling a pretty lady. So just like the movie, I have some nostalgia for this kind of dumb fun.

Oh this movie was so funny! I laughed so much. Wait.. Genre Suspense/Thriller.. WHAT!? The camera work was awful! It was so shaky. Very predictable, awful 'twists' (I wouldn't really call them twists). But damn this was one funny movie. It deserves a 1 because of the hilarity

Even Lou Diamond Phillips couldn't save this, I can't believe I just said that.

You can't go wrong with the "LDP"! Except you can, and this movie did.

This film is a paint-by-numbers 1980s-style horror film; its redeeming feature is that humanity fights back rather than simply falling into personal drama and self-destructing. Its weakness is that the script is really, really basic with all characters cut from whole cloth, such that this could have been slashfic or a NaNoWriMo project. You can pretty much guess what is happening next so my guess is this was designed as a date night movie for people not really paying attention.

This movie isn't even bad in the so bad its fun to watch with some friends and a case of beer kind of way.

You can go on living even if you have not watched this. In fact, I encourage you to avoid Bats!

Rote crap with a few better corpses & some creepy ugly batlike faces. A pretty decent "bats attack town" scene, and heavy reliance on fast indiscernible edits.

Oh god it was horrible!

With the star power of Lou Diamond Phillips, it's a wonder that this is as bad as it is.

Worth a laugh.

I sat through a 20 minute strobe light sequence and all I got was the riveting ending to Bats.

Oh for the days of Young Guns, Lou Diamond Phillips.
