One wonders what was going through his mind while Rains was filming this silly but well-shot sci-fi cheapie in Italy. Margheriti brings strong atmosphere to a slight production.

Now that's what I call climate change! What did I just watch; a feature film or an extended episode of 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace'? The acting and writing are truly terrible, but the film does have redeeming features in the form of the highly atmospheric sets and the creative special effects with purpose. Also, the multiple lighters gag is pretty funny. Claude Rains as Professor Benson comes across as a deranged Spencer Tracy, not sure if that is good or bad but likely unintended.
