Bazaar Bizarre

The fact that this documentary was picked up for distribution by Troma says a lot. It's as exploitative as documentary gets, making no attempt at solemnity as several true stories of prolonged brutality are milked for shock value -- oddly, I'll admit that if Meade had gone one step further and just dramatized the events with actors, it might have seemed more acceptable. It's also rather sloppy, badly edited, with Ellroy, an obvious layman, talking nonsense already within the first few minutes.
