So much happy music. They look like for the most part they had awesome good fun doing what they were doing and we're all better for having them around.

A fun story of friendship, music, and growth. A touching eulogy for Adam Yauch, RIP MCA

The two remaining Beastie Boys literally tell their story in front of an audience while archival footage plays in the background. Funny, informative and surprisingly emotional (when they're talking about MCA).

Genuinely sentimental and fun given how limiting this format could be -- just two old guys talking about their glory days, their mistakes, their regrets and mainly their amazing friendship stories. MCA was truly a genius. Lacks a proper pace, but at least it doesn't feel self-congratulatory or arrogant. Too bad it just covers their career until Hello Nasty -- my fav album might be To The 5 Boroughs.

Boring in the best moments ("We failed our way to the top, wasn't that crazy?"), pathetic in the worst moments ("I'm old, ... also please applaud me for my superficial atonement of how I treated women.")

Beastie Boys are my favourite band or musical anything, I don't have a number 2. Their first 5 albums are all classics. How many bands or musical artists can you say that about? The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin? Are there any others? Anyway, I'm so glad I got the opportunity to see them in concert. This is a good companion to Beastie Boys Book.

I wasn’t expecting a film like this at all, and that's what I liked about it most. I didn't know Spike Jonze was behind this going in, but now it makes sense. This is a very clever creative, unconventional production. I like the Beastie Boys, but I don’t think it’s a necessity for enjoying this film. While the production quality is great, it's also a fun and informative story. Great documentary. Very funny. I hadn't seen a lot of this material.
