Beautiful City

I have just read this: "The English subtitles are always legible, turning from white to yellow against light backgrounds." -- I didn't spot this, but I am now inclined to love the film.

Octubre? 2016 - Interessant situació. Està bé seguir el suplici dels personatges i veure com es torturen per intentar fer el bé. No vaig acabar d'entendre el motiu de la mort. I el final semblava forá obert.

Repetitive. Less gripping and much less accessible than Farhardi later works.

In the interest of full disclosure, I had to brave crappy subtitles to watch this, because I couldn't find a better copy. Keeping that in mind, it was still hard to consider this on par with Farhadi's later works, although his interest in tortuous moral conflict is already apparent. It is also his most courageous film politically speaking, because it discusses the patriarchal and violent nature of Islamist Iran's judicial system.
