Bedtime for Bonzo

I only watched this because of the Ramones song, and that was not nearly good enough of a reason.

Reagan and a chimp. A sign of the future.

Surprisingly, not as bad as one would think, considering it stars Ronald Reagan and a chimp. You're never gonna laugh out loud, but it has an occasional mildly amusing exchange. Not awful, but has little going for it besides the novelty value of watching a movie where a chimpanze almost strangled an actor who would come to be elected President of the US.

In '51 Ronald Reagan had probable two of his most iconic picture released. First the KKK thriller Storm Warning and then a month later... this. Bonzo always gets mentioned when talking about Reagan's movie career, making a mockery of his mediocre acting credentials being out-performed by a chimpanzee. But there is no disgrace in being put in the shadow of Bonzo. He's great! And Diana Lynn as the home wrecker/maker was adorable too. Screw the haters, Bedtime for Bonzo (1951) is fun!
