Some good Colin Firth-ing, some good Mark Strong-ing, but it does end up following the path of least resistance to its conclusion. A diverting 90 minutes but not one to live long in the memory (ho ho).

far fetched, predictable and a bit more far fetched. But, still, there was something here that kept me gripped. A nice bit of mystery, suspense and a few thrills. Worth a watch

Accessible and enjoyable thriller , nothing particularly original.

Colin Firth with a surprise twist is obsession with Nicole Kidman who has no short term memory. Another movie that lacks imagination. Despite its dark take on the subject, it was underwhelming. Many missed opportunities to be more creative and entertaining. Performances were adequate but not impressive. A few tense moments, but the director failed to make this engaging enough.

Nicole Kidman's performance elevates an otherwise trashy and unoriginal thriller; just barely watchable.

I don't know what to say about the movie, I would say that I don't regret the wasted time. The plot at the end is hard to believe. The cast was first class.

Fairly straightforward and generic. The plot developments aren't particularly surprising and outcome is too tidy and expected. Serviceable performance from kidman but the script and execution are nothing special. I'll never understand Colon Firth's appeal and never enjoy his soggy, bland, uptight presence. He sogs this one up a lot for me.

Intruiging in the beginning, but I absolutely hated the way it goes and the ending.

Its been a little while since i've seen a decent heart thumping thriller and I think this ticks a lot of the boxes to be decent one. Nicole Kidman is back to her best and is incredibly convincing and you are instantly attached to the character. You never really know who to trust or what to believe which is how Kidman's character is feeling at that time.I didn't see the twist coming but does make a lot of sense on reflection.I think the films is stretched out towards the end but really enjoyable.

Mildly entertaining by-the-numbers psychological mystery with a couple of somewhat telegraphed twists. Suspension of disbelief is a bit of an ask, but just go with it.

Thoroughly forgettable, though it's kinda interesting while it's unfolding, with a memorable twist or two--an airport novel of a movie. I've already forgotten a lot of what happens in it.

The psychological-thriller to 50 First Dates. It isn't, but there is a case to to be made. Firth and Strong were well cast in the their roles, and Kidman doesn't do a bad job either; unfortunately there are far too many plot holes or illogicalities, to make the film truly enjoyable. Before I Go to Sleep reeks of "Meh", with a few exciting moments and an ending that's too sappy for its own good.

All of that said, Before I Go to Sleep's real problem is not one of scope and craft as much as wince-worthy moments betwixt the plot points. Seeing a fragile, set-upon woman slapped viciously and then beaten bloody and senseless on numerous occasions is, to say the least, unsettling. Add in obscenities, sex and nudity and you're left with content that will likely linger in your amnesia-free memory. (pluggedin.com)

The gimmick is, of course, right out of 'Memento'. I haven't read the novel, but the film's plot has a few pretty decent twists and turns. But the execution is baaaaad.

The script seems like a retread that has been done better in other places before. Nicole Kidman is very good in the lead role in this film. Overall this movie is disappointing.

A silly thriller that's diverting enough and ridiculously short - though could've done with the last 5 minutes being cut out. I'm also adding 2 extra points for Nicole Kidman's bum.

Not without certain flaws - plausibility, perhaps lack of originality, a languid pace. But for me, Before I Go To Sleep was an utterly enthralling ninety minutes, and rates as my favourite psychological thriller of the year. full review @ lbxd
