A telling story of an unemployed Vietnam vet in Butte, Montana, whose wife leaves him after seven years when she feels there is no longer communication between them and - more painfully and pointedly - because she is unable to have a child owing to his sterility from exposure to Agent Orange. Told in a gentle style, richly emotional, Bell Diamond was made with non-professionals drawn from the community of Butte [Montana]. (Jon Jost)

Indulges in its simplicity, and it works (but only for the most part). a touching story, if you allow yourself to put more in that it's giving to you -- however, it all ultimately feels rather stretched thin and easily conclusive, but this still resonates as a highly personal piece of work all round.

Striking something between White of the Eye, and Night-Flowers (1979) The principle characters have a problem that will drive them apart, and it can't be solved, no matter how much they care for each other. No escapism here, just life being a bitch and people dealing with it. I didn't feel quite the same warmth that comes through in Slow Moves, but it's not too bad, I guess.
