Similar to the first one, better action/battle sequences, but not quite as well-written or as memorable (not to mention it's longer when it doesn't need to be). Still quite a good instalment, I'm looking forward to seeing the third one.

Both the animation and the characterizations are improved in this second feature. I still miss the pacing of the series but at least the new voices are growing on me. Plus this film contains more Caska and Guts interactions which a a joy and the awesome Gut the "100 man slayer" footage is truly awesome.

The CGI is still bad but the movie covers less material than the first one and therefore feels more coherent and better paced. A very good adaptation of already great source material.

Oyeahhhhh!!!!! Waited some time for this. The second part of the masterful remake of the series (and manga)! Actually the part with the most dialogue and the 'transition' into the truely evil/dark part of the story (or beginning of the story if you are reading the manga like I am). Greatly awesome movie and actually should be seen by everyone, you're no exception ;)

Suffers from middle child syndrome as the plot is only used to move the trilogy towards the ending. Characters get fleshed out more though, and the battle scenes are the top of the whole trilogy.

Builds upon the first part nicely. There's bloody action aplenty, and while the story is (still) relatively simple it kept me curious enough to leave me wanting more.

Eh, I hear a high amount of complaints about the CGI, and few comments about how great the rest of the animation looks. There's a scene towards the climax where Caska is wearing this fur outfit, and the fluidity of this moment of fluff stifled whatever stuffy attitude I had shown towards the computer animation. Cannot wait to see the finale of this arc, and, hopefully very soon, what lies beyond it.
