A fast paced entry to the Berserk series, entertaining even if the gorgeous 2D artwork has to give way to the ugly 3D work.

A good start into a crazy trilogy. The CGI isn't great but the cinematography and fight choreography really compliment it and make it excel. Characters are good.

I've never seen or read any Berserk before, but this definitely made me want more. Bit of a Fire Emblem-y atmosphere, but with more brütal violence. The CGI doesn't always look that hot and gives the whole thing a videogame-cutscene-feel at times. Still, there's a lot of potential in the setting and I can't wait to see where this is going.

This refresher of the first third of the series can be gorgeous at times, but you're going to have to slug through some some dated looking CGI. Makes you wonder why they'd bother including it, when the 2D scenes look so darn good. While I understand things needed to be cut, the 80 min run time doesn't allow for much besides battles, secondary characters are underused, and most of the literal guts of the story are left out.

Two words to describe this mess. Hot Garbage. It takes elements of Miura's dark fantasy manga and waters it down. Deep philosophical dialogue and scenes are left out or chopped to bits. Critical changes are made which turn this into a steaming mediocre pile. The 1997 had some shit animation but at least it remained nearly 100% faithful to the hyper violent and dark atmosphere of Berserk. Not to mention the '97 adaptation had incredible music. The music in this blew an apostle's demon cock.

definitely a boys sort of movie, but since I am a boy, I was pretty satisfied with it. Great animation (though frame-rate is sloppy), good battle scenes, cool gory moments, and the ending was written in a way that makes it particularly inspiring.

Yesssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've waited so long for Berserk to continue or to be remade! The story was somewhat shortened, but the plot remains amazingly thrilling and brilliant! Everyone should see this!

Beautiful animation and good voice work can't compete with the depth of characterization and excitement of watch the series.

That CG should be embarrassing considering the quality of animation in Japan. It clogs up the beginning of the movie, but the real meat is compelling enough to make up for it.

A correct adaption of the manga, nothing more, nothing less. I didn't like the old 1998 anime as it didn't follow the story and after seeing this reboot i started to understand that the old version is better. The graphic and the luminous glossy colors of this 2012 version isn't suited to the manga middle-age gore style. It's smooth, there is no dirt, in fact you may mistaken the landscape for a rainbow pony's land. Fews good points : the animation and a close story to the manga.
