Zionist propaganda, not even trying to take the Palestinian perspective. Shame.

Interesting movie. The movie primarily details the common place brutality, infighting, and to a lesser extent the corruption of the Palestinians. It left me with the impression that amongst Israelis that there is a serious incompatibility with their desire to both befriend the Palestinians and protect themselves from them. The only thing I didn't enjoy about the movie was the subtitles. It would have been better if the movie was in English. I'm not fond of subtitles.

Most in my lefty Tel-Aviv environment have been very critical of this film, for a variety of reasons, but to an extent I think that attests to the risks and challenges undertaken here, and for all its flaws I was impressed by the degree to which it rises up and works as a drama-thriller. A little rough around the edges, Bethlehem is still well put-together, and has the complexity and intensity of a Scorsese crime film.
