Maybe it's because I'm too familiar with the Comedy Bang Bang podcast, but my suspension of disbelief never kicked in so I was just watching celebrities/improv comedians who knew each other act like they didn't and that kind of ruined it for me. Maybe I'm doing movies wrong? Oh, and also most of it is just The Most Boilerplate Road Movie and that's rather disappointing considering the people in front of and behind the camera/ferns.

It's tough to be hard on anything that has such an amazing finale blooper reel as that will bring me joy for years to come, but it also shows how pointless this was. It's kind of amazing to consider the fact that of all people, the Jackass crew got it right by not having a wraparound story for their ridiculousness. HEY YOU! Whoever YOU are that's currently writing the road trip plot points for the Hot Ones Feature Film, stop. Just stop.

The opening with McConaghey is the highlight. Oddly, the film chooses to focus more on the dumb framing device than the interviews themselves, several of which last only a minute or so. It's like they forgot what makes the idea even half appealing.

Apparently I forgot to rate this. I got to see a screening of this, and Aukerman & Lapkus came out afterwards. I also got to sit next to Todd Barry, which was actually really impressive to me. As for the film, there were some laughs, but as I sit here two months later, I am struggling to remember anything beyond the interviews.

By no means bad. It's just that it had the opportunity to be some sort of meta absurdist masterpiece, and disappointingly opts for something more generic. Good enough for what it is, but could have, and frankly should have been much much better.

Instead of doling out standup specials Netflix should just get all the comedians to do their own late-period Jerry Lewis movies

Everything that does not happen inside the studio seems boring. But the rest is awesome.

The story doesn't do much of anything and the funniest bits were the outtakes in the credits. Don't really think this is for anyone that isn't a fan of the Comedy Bang Bang crew.

The narrative is very hit or miss, but each of the interviews as well as the blooper reel at the end are comedy gold. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at a direct-to-streaming movie before.

Should've called itself "Behind Two Ferns" (I try) and stuck with the effective mockumentary/making-of format of the first act, because what followed was a terribly flimsy attempt at a movie. The premise was pitiful (Zach *owes* Will 10 interviews, so how is he able to negotiate something in return for them?), the plotting pathetic (see the instant reunion at the gas station), and there's virtually no themes or character development to speak of. It was funny though (deadpan Zach is a delight).

"Hey, we've got a weird interview show where a fat bastard insults annoying celebrities, let's focus on a generic roadtrip plot instead!"

The interviews are just as good as always, but (almost) everything else is filler. Definitely worth watching for fans of the series.

I quit watching after 15 or 30 minutes. I liked the episodes on YouTube but this just fell flat for me. It feels very forced and not funny. Trite.

The web-series works well in its three-minute episode format, but the attempt to stretch that winning formula to feature-length by adding a lazily constructed mockumentary framework results in something so colossally unfunny that it flirts with utter contemptibility. Galifiankis’ folksy, dim-witted persona is completely at odds with his acid-tongued interview style, and not one of the two-dozen star cameos elicits so much as a smile.

This movie didn't really need to be a movie. The skits, like the web skits that preceded them, were hilarious, and the bloopers and the end were probably the funniest part of the movie. But the actual "movie" bits in between? Almost entirely garbage, with a couple bits regarding the camera crew getting a small chuckle from me, but that's it.

Feels more like an extended TV special than actual movie, but the huge list of celebrities involved keeps it entertaining for 80 mins. The interviews are the highlight while the road trip framing feels forced.

While not familiar with the web series, they do a pretty good job of explaining what it's about. I can imagine the 'joke' plays out better in small chunks than it does here where the formula of ZG asking celebs offensive or inappropriate questions gets a little repetitive. There are a number of laughs here, but for me the funniest part was the opening scene with McConaughey and the credits which says a lot about the rest of the 'movie'. Worth a look for fans of the web series no doubt.

If you are a fan of the interviews you should also check out this movie. There are a ton of star cameos and many funny moments in the script. The story is nothing special but there are laughs. Overall I would recommend this comedy.

Haven't really seen the show... Some really good lines in the interview segments but the phoned-in, forgettable "plot" is worthless. At this point I have come to expect roughly this from TV/online comedy's feature-length outings.

Funny in parts, but the none interview segments lag a little, showing that there probably wasn't enough to turn this into a film. I do love how seriously all the celeb cameos take their roles. If you didn't know any better, you could be convinced they are legit.
