Suffers from being made before the legal matters have been completely settled. Also seems to lose focus. It feels like this would have been better as a two part documentary one focusing on the crime itself and the court system. The other focusing on the girls mental illness, true motives, and the victims family which didn't get enough of a voice. Instead around halfway after telling the majority of relevant information it completely loses focus.

Kind of made too early in the case and the whole horror-doc narrative feels totally unbalanced, specially because the film seems rushed and scattered in the second half.

Decent and unassuming documentary about a tragic subject that touches on many relevant angles but lacks certain special punch in the framing. Interviews with the kids are themselves some powerful stuff.

If you have knowledge of Slenderman or the crimes, than this might be redundant as not much is addressed that hasn't been addressed on National television. That being said, it's portrayed in a super interesting way, and one that's fun for a viewing if you like crime documentaries.

Solid documentary about a fascinating subject. It got us talking about children's behaviors, mental illness and the institution of psychiatry, law and the penal system. Does a good job of hugging these issues and more without unnecessary bias.

Wish they would have held off until post-trial!

My first issue is wondering why they even made this documentary? The court case hasn't even been settled yet, so why not just wait until after? The second is that it loses it's focus and is often slow and sporadic. Also, why are there all those beautiful shots of the surrounding area and the city itself? It felt disjointed, rushed, and I didn't connect on any emotional level, other than I just feel bad for the parents. They didn't, and still don't understand what is happening to their daughters.

Doesn't come off as particularly hard hitting, and would have been helped greatly if there was an actual conclusion to the court battles. However some of the interviews with the kids are incredibly eye opening, in the differences of the mentality and emotion of the two girls.

The first half was interesting but fell off from there. The documentary was also made too early since the court case hasn't even really begun.
