It's unbelievable that a movie with Will Ferrell, Nicole Kidman, Steve Carrell, Jason Schwartzmann, michael Caine, Shirley McClaine and Stephen Colbert, coscripted by Adam McKay, could be so woefully unfunny. And yet here we are.

Ferrell and Kidman are completely miscast in this bummer of a remake. Where it should be light and fun, this movie is tired and slow.

Amazing as it might seem, despite it's flaws (believe me, there are a few I can name), I actually kind of enjoyed this movie. It's... difficult to explain, really. Nostalgia for the show (I guess) and Nicole Kidman's surprisingly charming performance mixed with some amusing supporting turns may actually net this one a few fans, even if the plotting can be a mess and the film feels like it's trying a bit TOO hard to be clever at times.

Next time write a script BEFORE you start shooting. And if you HAVE to make features from old TV shows, try to make them better than the original material.

Attempted a new approach to adapting an old sitcom into a movie... which sadly failed. And actually had good actors who were fans of the original show, but that couldn't save the movie from the horrible script

Ferrell and Kidman are cute, but the script is a dreary confusion of insincere sentiment, second-rate gags, and half-hearted post-modernism ("Let's make a movie called "Bewitched" about actors making a movie called "Bewitched"!). Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert are wasted, Kristin Chenoweth is annoying as usual, and Michael Caine and Shirley McLaine do their best (which in this case is not nearly good enough).

Cheesy. Kidman is more cute than cute. Ferrel plays his character (a very bad actor) very naturally (saw him as a very bad actor in other movies, so they picked the right guy here). but somehow I don't care that much today. still 50

Anemic, completely inane comedy (?) which squanders a terrific quartet of actors at the forefront, and a capable supporting cast, on a nonsensical, pointless story full of strident, irritating characters (starting with Kidman). Possibly the most egregious waste of fine talent on both sides of the camera in recent memory.

I saw this at a drive-in. The lady-friend I was with was not interested in any exciting antics, so the least this movie could have done was to be entertaining, or even slightly funny.

Nora Ephron can be fun. But this is a tpyical studio misfire of a remake, terribly miscast, no chemistry between the leads, too glossy and concocted and who was the audience for this anyway? I wanted more of the side characters, Steve Carell, Shirley MacLaine, Michael Caine, who were wasted.

I wasted money on this movie at the theater. I so wanted to enjoy this movie. Nicole Kidman - Brilliant Casting. As much as I dislike Steve Carrell, he was very very good here. But it just could not save a poorly written movie. This should not have been a vehicle for Will Ferrell. A better casting might have been Dean Cain.

The movie even has a script that could work. Rather than simply making a two-hour episode of the TV show on the big screen, have a different story. This movie is made of good and bad moments. Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman are not bad, just did not have a chemistry here. Neither Steve Carrell managed to inject some soul, in the poor end.

Kidman is very sweet and cute, while Ferrell perpetuates his Obnoxious Man movie persona. Film gets off to a promising beginning, but then it kinda disappears up its own ass a bit. Still, there are some funny cameos/moments (Lipton interviewing Ferrell, Caine appearing in a host of supermarket products, Ferrell shooing Kidman with the tree branch).
