While the first one had a vague B-movie feel to it, the sequel somehow either matches or tops the budget while establishing full blown B-movie credentials by casting Frank Grillo as the lead. Meanwhile Grillo continues to build his reputation as basically a poor man's Tom Cruise, and you know what? I'm a fan. This one is every bit as entertaining as the first, but without the overly abitious, jarring cliffhanger ending.

Maybe I give more credit than I'm supposed to but this is one hell of a B-movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised with the direction of the storyline. Very good Sunday afternoon fodder.

Beyond Skyline is a vast improvement over its awful predecessor. It's an R-rated alien invasion B-movie that has good enough characters, acting, effects, action, and humor to be worth checking out. It isn't very interesting or intellectually stimulating, but you're not selecting a movie like this one for that sort of thing. And if you were really disappointed by Independence Day: Resurgence, well, give this one a shot. It's essentially that, but better.

Not as WTF as the first one, but still not a decent movie. The only good thing the first movie has is that aliens look indistructables. We are hopelss. Then the ending wtf. But here... what - is - this ? Sorry guys, it's big nope.

The Rapture as enacted by brain sucking aliens. Stumbles a bit after arriving in Laos, but other than that this is fine low budget scifi schlock ('only' $20 million). More fun than a lot of higher profile genre productions. Frank Grillo has good energy and charisma and the rest are okay, alien design is kind of dorky.

Not nearly as good as the first film but still it Started off decent but lost steam fast and soon turned into a cheesy crap feat full of cliches and bits from other much better films. And as is the usual for these types of films there are way too many coincidences and the dreaded Deus ex machina that allows the humans to win. Been there done that not impressed.

A pretty by the numbers alien invasion movie which shines it's best when it comes to its martial arts oddly enough. A fun ride but one nothing too special.

Much better than the 1st one. Sort of the same story but better acted and budgeted. Plus is the aliens appear more vulnerable. Felt like a more complete story.

I was actually pretty excited for this despite not giving a shit about the original Skyline, never seen it and don't intend to. I was looking forward to this based on the martial arts edge this film was given and the inclusion of Yayan Ruhian and Iko Uwais. The few times the Raid guys are let loose is good fun but mostly this movie is super cheesy and overall bland. A couple laughs to be had like when someone asks "is it terrorists?" after most of New York is sucked up by a tractor beam

So relentlessly weird and constantly fun, mixing martial arts with typical DTV material and a direct approach to sci-fi -- the plot is basically a mess, but a nice one to follow. It's 15 minutes longer than it should be, but it succesfully creates a mythology and has a charismatic cast led by Grillo, despite some lack of rythm in the third act. The gag reels are great.

Honestly I just watched this movie because I heard a couple people say it was so much better than the first movie (which isn't saying much) and because a couple stars from The Raid were in it. The scenes featuring those guys were decent, but they felt shoehorned in, and overall made me wish I was watching an actual martial arts movie. I guess it's a little better than the first one? But still just feels bland and soulless overall.

It develops the story of the first part not only making a sequel with the exact same thing happening. A little "Pacific Rim", though :).

Kısaca her türlü izlenir.

Better than you average B movie but they use main roll from 'Skyline' in this b-movie. Not b-roll, not similar shots, they use the exact same scenes from the climax of Skyline and other scenes MANY times. Most of the CGI is just edited in scenes from skyline. This is fraud, it should be illegal to re-release the same content under a different name to trick audiences into seeing it again. This is made extra confusing as half the scenes play by the physics from this movie and half from the first.

Great effects, no bullshit action from the start. But the acting is questionable. Does Bojana even knew what film are they making, her lines are outrageous to say the least. Son of Grillo seem like a good actor, shame he had little spell here. And Grillo while good action lead when he is not fighting and all is a bit off.

The screwy plot is convoluted and very poorly developed. The dialog is absolute garbage. The CGI was sometimes impressive and grossly overused. There were so many ludicrous moments I lost count. They seemed to undermine every scene with nonsense. Pounding music was sometimes overbearing. The humans fighting humans made no sense. There are some awesome dismemberment scenes. Overall, this is really quite lame, but the crazy over-the-top visual spectacle makes it barely worth watching.
