Beyond a Reasonable Doubt is without a doubt one of the worst films I have ever seen in my life. It was absolutely pitiful, and I am surprised that Michael Douglas would play in a movie like this. The direction was dreadful, and you will see the "surprise" ending coming from a mile off, the acting was humorous it was so bad, I really felt sorry for the actors. To be honest I am really not sure why this movie was made, and it would have saved me some money if it had not have been.

Like a really good, 2-hour TV show (well, network, not "House of Cards" or HBO programming). Great plot, taken from a 1956 Fritz Lang noir classic, but there is NOTHING cinematic about this version--it's utterly limited in visual and imaginative scope. The acting is, for the most part competent, though, and Jesse Metcalfe looks supremely lovely without a shirt on.

the main dude from desperate housewives is just pathetic. I can't believe they casted him. I didn't believe a word he said

Not too bad of a beginning/set up. But the end twist ruined the story. Not only did it throw in an illogical ending but it made the whole story illogical. Why would he ever try to discount a DA for mistrying and convicting someone else for a murder that he committed?

"For his remake of Fritz Lang's last American film, Peter Hyams retains the German Expressionist's narrative conceit but otherwise ratchets up the sleek car-commercial flashiness." - Nick Schager

This is an enjoyable movie that did not get a lot of love from critics. I am unfamiliar with the original movie. The cast is good and I like the twist in the movie.

Was really good until the last 25 minutes.. Ended way too fast and I didn't like the ending at all. It had promise but wasted it at the end.

Predictably unpredictable in it's retarded twist.

Great story/premise, adequate execution despite Amber Tamblyn's "nails on a chalkboard" delivery and Jesse Metcalfe's stiff yet whiny performance.

Seriously ? That little plot twist was way too contrived. Horrible picture editing and some horrendous scenes like the one in the parking lot..
