One could be tempted to think that Mona Paparu, who has to tell her story to the child protective services to get back custody of her young daughter, has been given advice by the impatient Gryphon from "Alice in Wonderland". Her depiction of the happenings of the past three years wrenches the viewer into an adventure where love, crime, clairvoyance, resurrection of the dead, women-trafficking and a literary S/M brothel have no small part to play. A well-shot and certainly original film. Unfortunately, it was neither consistently surreal enough to completely sell the fantasy/storytelling angle for me, nor did it supply a visceral enough feeling of repulsion if we are to take any of it at face value. Can't say that I loved it by any means, but at the same time it was definitely an intriguing watch.

Interesting adult fairytale that sometimes borders on the pretentious. Basing a story like this around the world of human trafficking of sex slaves was a bizarre decision; the subject matter doesn't sit well with the film's tone. The film doesn't have anything to say on the barbaric trade either. It's an odd marriage that doesn't sit well with me, and doesn't benefit the film in any way.
