Tricks on a bicycle are used to entertain people...a good 110 years later, the subject matter is still exciting television viewing, now more than ever. Obviously, the guy isn't impressive by any modern standards, but it's an innovative short nonetheless. In retrospect though, I have to downgrade this a bit, since the Lumiere brothers had a bicycle riding short (with much better quality and clarity) an whole 3 years before this.
