Not a bad monster movie at all. The CGI is very acceptable, and the story is just plain stupid, and not taken seriously. Lots of lovely Mexican racism along the way. Ey mang ok?

I call fraud! The spider's ass wasn't even that big.

Way more entertaining than a straight to DVD movie with this title has any right to be. Everyone seems to be having a good time and it didn't sag like most high-concept straight to video sci-fi movies seem to have.

A boring creature feature. I didn't care about any of the characters or any of the relationships and the spider wasn't interesting at all.

A stupid, fun movie about a Big Ass Spider whose Big Ass gets annihilated by a Big Ass bazooka. Come for the Big Ass Spider, stay for the racial stereotypes.

Horror-comedy is only a new genre because people forgot what Troma studios did; this movie keeps a tight, energetic pace with lots of laughs but makes you feel enough for its characters to hope they get somewhere, unlike most of this schlock. Knows how to avoid lulls and telegraph a somewhat complex script with believable devices throughout, once you get over the giant mutant spider premise. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I was surprised how much I liked this. The story was nothing out of usual but there was some spark during the way to do it. Lombardo Boyar and Clare Kramer did a memorable parts.

Crappy acting, crappy effects, what else did you expect?

I loved the slo-mo beginning but it rapidly declined when the acting kicked in. Where exactly does a spider's ass begin/end in relation to the rest of the body?

I watched two monster movies before this one, Black Sheep and Grabbers, both were more fun, took tongue-in-cheek to mean they can be silly and not have to write a cliche rags to riches hero story. All of which seems to be lost on these guys, who think fun is making Mexican jokes. It's also sad when a poor CGI spider is more animated than your actual cast.

At the end it is not that bad, the act is good and the only thing that it is not good it is the CGI of the spider. There is a little humor there provided by the comic duo of protagonists. Another cameo by Lin Shaye.

As bad as it is, it isn't as bad as you think.

If it wasn't for the couple of recognisable actors with actual ability this would be pretty unwatchable. It's cheesy as hell but has it's moments.

Bad SFX, but I liked the overall feel of the movie. It stuck with comedic sense rather than trying to be serious like Sharknado which was a terrible monster disaster movie.
