A ballsy sequel that doesn't simply rehash the time travel hijinks of the original. It goes deeper and darker than the first movie (the guys go to hell, after all), but still has plenty of fun and humor to balance it, helped a lot by William Sadler's Bergman-meets-Brooks version of the Grim Reaper. STATION!

An ideal type of sequel in that it goes somewhere completely unexpected, taking a radical left-turn into metaphysical territory rather than simply continue into the sci-fi of the first one. Also, the design of the extremely "1991" future is completely amazing.

Rather hilarious film that not only has the gall to kill off its main characters rather early on, but spoof a somewhat obscure art film (The Seventh Seal). Much better than its predecessor with tons of surreal imagery and absurd humor.

Bill and Ted channel Igmar Bergman in an insane conglomeration of classic plot devices...like hiring aliens to build robot versions of yourself and time traveling with the Grim Reaper. 1991 may not be 1989, but the message is as clear as ever: the best place to be is here and the best time to be is now, so be excellent to each other and PARTY DOWN!

I admit, I am an unreasonably big fan of the Bill and Ted, but if you give it a chance, you might find that you are too. Sure it's fairly ridiculous, but it's also pretty clever, and with the addition of some great new characters, the film is more than a cheap sequel. It has a wildly different plot than the original, and it's a whole new party. Really good!

This second one might not have had as good of a reception at the time, but "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" is an unadulterated escalation of the inane hijinks from the first installment. It's even more crazy, more fun, and every bit a timeless classic. A must watch and one of my childhood favorites. Station!

One Sunday when I was like 5 I was doing an Iron Man puzzle and this was on tv. I gave up on the puzzle because this was so bizarre and it captivated me. I never knew the name of the film until I was 17 and saw it again. Just as bizarre and captivating all those years later. Bill and Ted were never the greatest but I still enjoy both the movies.

While it's not as good as the first it does have it's moments. Not a lot of sequels have the guys to kill off the title characters right into a film and got some surprisingly impressive surreal imagery throughout and the intereacting between the two Bill and Ted sets are hilarious, I wish Rufus had a bit of a bigger part though. Still it's an entertaining film and if you enjoyed the first one you'll enjoy this sequel, just not quite as much.

An extremely underrated comedy. Sure, it's ridiculous and stupid, but it's version of Heaven, Hell, Limbo, and the future are so out-there and unique that I wouldn't have it any other way. Station!

This is a very funny sequel. This movie is ever more fun than the original. The character of The Grim Reaper is an excellent edition. William Sadler steals the movie with a very funny performance. If you like the original movie then you must check this one out.

Bill and Ted's second outing is much less conventional than their first. While the first act is uneven the next two are a mixture of early Burton and wacky optimism. None of this should work but it does, even 25 years later.

There's only so much dumb that can be enjoyed ironically before it becomes a sad and sorry wallow; this bogus journey most definitely crosses the line, proudly celebrating its slacker character's dim bulb lifestyles without providing any meaningful commentary or edge to the storytelling. It is always nice to see LETHAL WEAPON era Ackland, and, despite the material they are handed, Reeves and Winter do their best (especially as their passive aggressive robot selves).

Overall a lesser movie than 'Excellent Journey'. The comedic acting is still worthy, especially Sadler as 'Death', but the writing is much weaker and a few scenes fall quite flat as a result. Still there is more than enough to recommend to fans of the first film, but it won't convert anyone who wasn't already taken in by the endearing charm of the main duo.

This goes more bogus than bodacious because the end doesn’t feel as lived or (uh, nor.) nor! as earned as the first most excellent journey, and aliens and robots and clones and Death aren’t as rockin as Napoleon swearing while bowling. The Stallyns don’t actually learn anything while we watch, which is somewhat weird and obvious because they go to Gorn Rock and then Hell and back. But, the production and set design is frankly an amazing, disaster of a spectacle and will never be seen again

Puts its predecessor to shame. Good-natured, comfortingly silly, and non-judgmental of its doofus heroes (unlike something like Beavis And Butthead). Zany throughout, and imaginative in a childlike way, it is Hollywood product but not so far from the likes of Head or even Jodorowsky. A few off-putting moments: weird jokes about wanting to kill cats, as well as one very enthusiastic use of "fag". Though the teenage boys of 1991 did love to throw that word around.

Not as classic as the original, but the characters of Bill and Ted are always memorable and make every situation they are in quite memorable. With echoes of Dante's La Comedia, their journey through the afterlife gets a bit psychedelic at times, but ... well, it's just a bit weird.

Not quite as excellent as the first movie, but it does really go all the way into the bonkers-land here and that's a good thing. The dudes ending up in Hell was funny and having Death tag along was one of the most fun parts, too. It is quite cringeworthy with the F-slurs these days, though. Just yikes. A little bit too long for its own good but it wasn't bad. Just nowhere near to the fun of the the first part.

The adjectives in the titles of this franchise accurately represent the film's quality. Not nearly as fun as its predecessor, Bogus Adventure fails a lot of its humor and fun that came with the "simplicity" of the original. Not totally excellent in most regards, and it could be a much better movie.

A very strong sequel. It captures what made the Excellent Adventure great - the dudebro charm of the eponymous duo and their wacky out-of-this-world hijinks - while still being willing to move in new directions. The easy Bill & Ted sequel would have just been a retread of the original - another collectathon of the who's who of historical figures plucked through the past and brought to the modern day. Instead, we get a creative, new story that seriously ups the ante from the original.

The kind of story that's made up of a whole lot of interesting incidents happening in a row. I like this a little better than the first one, because of the sheer weirdness and variety of the incidents, but you might like the first one more because it's more thematically coherent. Either way, it's very much a Fun Movie that isn't trying to be more than that but accomplishes everything it is trying to do.

Bogus Journey is that rare film artifact: an arguably superior comedic sequel that clearly differentiates itself from its predecessor yet works equally well as part of a continuous story. The concept is even more absurd: Bill and Ted are killed by evil robot versions of themselves and wind up in hell where they have to elude Satan and defeat death to save the world from a mad dictator. The hell sequence is a triumph of cartoon surrealism, and The Seventh Seal parody is dead on.

Truly dire - the intellectually impaired duo have nothing new to say and clearly neither do the original writers, believing that the duo's mere presence will guarantee laughs and fun. The plot is awful, barely there and probably churned out in a few seconds. Gone are the gags, amusing cameos, and infectious personalities of the first film. Replaced by a few more special effects and countless scenes of painful nonsense. One of those cinematic crimes where I wish I could have my 80 minutes back.

This is a hard to classify movie. Yes is a silly comedy, but it goes to interesting places, and has some locations that are quite creative. At moments surreal.
