A good exercise in near wordless storytelling, and a wonderful exemplary text of high classical filmmaking. Prevert's poetic narration is subtle and sparse, but resonates quite powerfully, giving the film a fable-like, timeless quality.

Amusing kid's adventure from North-Africa, about the two boys Abdullah and Massoud, and their donkey Bim! Their troubles go all over the desert and end up at sea in search for their missing ass. Told through a French narrator, while all the action is basically silent film. It was enjoyable short affair. Very unique for its time.
