A surprisingly mature Danish film from the 1930s! The lame comedy for the most part is exchanged with the drama fishermen experience out at sea. But Danes still had an talent in those days for making movies so slow that it barely feels like anything is happening. They still had a lot to learn about making the narrative flow better. But with 'Blaavand reports storm' they manage to make a half interesting story and even some emotion into the tragedies.
