I knew nothing about this movie going in and the whole movie I thought that the female lead was played by a man in the movie but it turns out she was only played by a man in real life and not as part of the film's plot. I also found all the characters including "Black Rose" horrible people and I couldn't care less what happened to any of them.

A cult film if there ever was one. The Drag is so apparent the social commentary about all the stuffy male patrons, their pining, and their ruminations over the nature of true love takes on an air of comedy. The ending is pure Mishima. This is homoerotic l'amour fou directed by a madman, derived from a genius.

A relatively straight forward noir that manages to be insane and loaded with social meanings at the same time. Akihiro Miwa blows everything away with just her looks and glances at all the men who so desperately want to own her.
