Black Widow

A nice simple and enjoyable whodunit. WB Archive's back cover and the title basically gave the reveal away. Terrible police work but it makes for entertaining drama. Van Heflin doesn't really have the face of a leading man. Gene Tierney was a minor player and I wish I saw more of her. Ginger Rogers was good. Fav scene: you're not dumb enough to leave the body in your own apartment.

Van Heflin's great here in a nicely constructed mystery noir. It's not a film to set the world on fire, but it's fun to watch and has a really good pace, tight enough to keep you on your toes but without feeling rushed. I kinda wish there was more of Tierney and Raft but they're good when they're there; the rest of the actors don't do much for me, but their performances fit their characters well.

A nice Noirish mystery with some good twists and turns. I had the ending figured out early but that didn't keep this from being quite entertaining. The dialogue was a bit off at times and some of the acting was a bit shaky but I still found the film to be a fast paced fun watch.
