A watchable cop-thriller that's generic enough to be justifiably ignored, but entertaining enough to not disappoint those who whimsically run across it. Harris proves that she isn't just a pretty face, and Grillo is always a treat, popping up more and more frequently lately.

It might be entertaining and decently directed, but Black and Blue doesn't treat its themes with enough nuance to do them justice. Naomie Harris is great as always; unfortunately, there isn't a good enough script here to make the rest of the film shine as brightly as she does.

A solid if heavy handed crime thriller that tread a well worn path but at least does a solid job of it. Naomie Harris does a great job and Frank Grillo is a suitably hardcore slimeball. Tyrese tries hard and was okay but a bit out of his league.

The problem with what I call the ACAB subgenre of cop-movies is that they can't veer away from their own basic premise and thus they end up really formulaic. In this case, I would actually have been surprised if the partner hadn't been one of the dirty ones.

Decent rom-cop with all the thrills and moralizing you might expect.

A tight thriller with some great moments. Naomie Harris gives and excellent performance and steals every scene she's in. She is definitely a rising star. The action is very fast and the story is well crafted to keep you on the edge of your seat. The excitement ramps up to a fever pace, but the full-scale assault at the end was just a little over the top. Worth watching and filled with tense moments.
