Blacklight

Truly just awful throughout. It only really has one action sequence near the end. The writing, both in narrative and dialogue, is horrific.

The movie has a lot of "that's what you shouldn't do in a movie" moments. However, it also has some "hey, that's an interesting idea" moments too. It clearly has some script issues, and not everything makes sense. The end is bad. The lighting and the visuals are not consistent. Like I said: a lot of "don't" and some "do" moments.

Overall, "Blacklight" is a forgettable addition to Liam Neeson's repertoire. While there are moments of impressive action and Raver-Lampman's standout performance, the lackluster execution and tired tropes bring the film down.

Background noise type of flick. Neeson is fine, but he's not given too much to work with here. Weak script, awful acting and the jarring jump cut effect got old quick. A merciful 4.4

I am a huge Liam Neeson fan, but I think it's time to stop these action movies and get more age appropriate roles. This one had some decent action sequences.

It actually has two intriguing premises, firstly the enforcer who finds out he been working for the wrong side and secondly the fact that his OCD infused paranoia is negatively influencing the mental health of his granddaughter, but unfortunately both are wasted. Never coming to fruition in interesting conflict. Plot points are repeated constantly, making it all very monotonous repetitive. On top of that the direction is horrible with completely inept use of Dutch angles and lens flares.

Well... they took his family. I don't have the same vitriol towards it as some others clearly do, but it is definitely not a good movie. Normally I think that Neeson is a good actor that just shouldn't do action, but even if he was off this time. The rest of the cast did no better. The plot was basic as hell. A thriller like this needs something more complex. The action sequences were uninspired. Dialogue was wonky.

Awful. Senseless plot. Bad acting. Bad writing. And it is one of the most boring movies I’ve seen… F
