This Islandic take on the gangster film is both entertaining and avoids the worst cliches of the genre.

We've seen most of this gangster opus' plot many a time before (though never in Icelandic, I'll give it that), and as was the case with most of the euro-crime movies of the 90s it emulates, the weakest part is it's attempt to "be cool 'n badass". Aside from this it's a pretty decent crime story, with some good performances, and a nice use of the pre-millennium setting.
