Blockade

Pretty good for it's day, but it's so short it's hard to relate to the characters and the plot is rushed.

Henry Fonda was just not right for the part of a Spanish peasant. The acting was comically melodramatic and the dialogue was corny. Also the romance with Madeleine Carroll felt out of place. Thanks to the moral code they were prevented from taking sides in the Spanish Civil War making the story very vague. But Blockade is not a total waste. It has some good war and espionage stuff going on to make it watchable, but it sure was painful in a lot of places.
