Brooks' performance is good, but it's not complex enough to carry the film in the way she's asked to. It's enjoyable while the film is weaving around in the middle, but the setup feels strained and the ending even more so.

Watchable, but really quite mediocre, B-grade noir. Leslie Brooks is fun (and sexy!) as the psycho femme fatale, if only because of how over-the-top her portrayal is. There were several moments when I half-expected her to turn to the camera and do one of those mwuahaha-style evil laughs. To say the film lacks subtlety is quite an understatement.

Leslie Brooks plays the role quite well. Ice cold, indeed. Unfortunately, there's not much else going for this movie. The plot is mildly engaging, but you can predict just about every move. Except for a few of the typical venetian blind shots, there isn't much atmosphere. Really the only part where it reaches the manic giddiness of Decoy is the ending, and even that is tempered by a nonsensical resolution to the story. Don't get me wrong, the movie is fun. But it doesn't really stand out.

Leslie Brooks as a blonde with a heart of ice, killing her men. The notoriety of the role as a female serial killer didn't extend her career as it was pretty much over once 1948 was done, but it was a nice attempt. The film just didn't have any oomph besides her, so it fell partly flat.

10 points on the strength of the magnificent title alone.
