Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet

The exact terrible cliches that have been parodied relentlessly for the past two decades. The movie seems to know this, which makes sense because it feels like it was made by a film school graduate desperately trying to imitate the great slashers. Unfortunately, it doesn't compensate by being entertainingly campy or funny. It's pretty much the mirror image of the Scary Movie series in that way.

Moseley gets all the credit in the world for not half-assing this. Danielle Harris is pretty good too. I thought it was going to be a lot worse, & while there certainly are things I would change about it- the premise essentially revolves around PMS causing psycho murder rampages, and there's really no distinct main character to root for- I didn't hate it. It's deeply flawed & not all that good, but for a low-rank slasher to watch on a rainy day you could do much worse.
