God damn hoot and a half. If there's no ridiculous synth blaring there's an actress reading her lines like they're going to hurt her. Super tight 80 minutes run time used to perfection. Blowing weird kisses at this movie.

"It's not cranberry sauce" splattered across the family's face this year after Thanksgiving dinner, but instead this holiday horror film breaks out the gravy boat to drizzle fake blood allover this weird, but otherwise, dry "so-bad-it's-good" turkey of an 80's slasher.

This is much more than a standard slasher.

Weird as hell attempt at slasher. I can choose to believe that everyone was just incompetent and/or (let's face it, it's "and") strung out on coke, or I can see it as a weird psychotronic sendup of the whole genre. I choose the latter, if only so I get to enjoy the gore.

This is not exactly a good film; not even a good slasher like Halloween or The Burning. Nor is it a so-bad-that-it's-good type of film, but it's still a very entertaining combination of bad acting and good & gory FX. It's also helped a lot by an effective 80's synth score, fashion and details like video games. All in all a perfect film to watch with a bunch of like minded friends and a 6-pack.

One of the best 80's horror soundtracks I've experienced, and gory as hell. Would probably be a bonafide cult classic if the cast was better.

A lot in common with The Prowler, but better... if just barely

A bad movie saved from being absolutely horrific by some good kills and a great synth soundtrack.

Nice, amusing spin on the genre and fills the thanksgiving slasher void

The name and poster are cool. But it's borderline unwatchable. One of the few cases where it seemed all the money was blown on FX cuz those kills were gooooood.

The main actor is good at playing twins. Decent kills, awful acting and zero suspense whatsoever. Also the victims make decisions so poorly that Jason would pause and stare at them for being so dumb. I wouldn't have finished this if it had not been on The Last Drive In.

The slasher action is fun, too bad everything else is extremely poor. So your mileage will vary how much poorness you can tolerate for some amusing action. As inherent to the genre the murders become more prominent once later in the movie, making it more watchable in the later half. Being only 82 minutes long it doesn't over stay its welcome.

Definitely on the cheesier side of the genre, but fun in spite of it's dumbness. Great FX, great music, and an awesomely unhinged performance from Lasser.

Ever heard of the "so bad it's good" concept? Well, this movie. The acting, the dialogue, the story, *everything* is SO BAD that it actually transcends the genre into comedy and turns into a fun and enjoyable movie.

[composite cut] A typical 80's slasher filmed in 1983, not released until 1987. The plot is lacking any suspense, originality or effort. If not for good, creative gore FX (by Ed French) and pounding 80's synth score it would be completely worthless.

While it's certainly nothing amazing & it's not even very funny, the way it fully commits itself to being a zany bloodsoaked slasher movie is really admirable. The performances aren't terrible, with Soper doing a surprisingly good job playing two different characters, & the supporting cast do a decent enough job. The kills are really fun, the effects aren't awful, & Terry is a fantastic villain. It's dumb & has a lot of problems, but somehow the campy charm outweighs them. Worth a look.

2024'de #IzlediğimFilmler ; 21. Blood Rage (1987) "Gore" seviyesi ile , başroldaki Mark Soper'ın (sadece onun maalesef) oyunculuğu ile tam bir 80'ler zaferi :) Tam Cumartesi akşamı eğlenceliği. Duvardaki Escher eseri gözden de kaçmadı :) 7/10

Lasser is woefully miscast and profoundly irritating. The entire film is helpfully set in a single apartment complex leading to ridiculously convoluted plot developments to explain why the whole thing isn't resolved in 5 minutes. But it's a lot of fun, and it's manifest ridiculousness only heightens the fun. The effects are not expensive, but the gore effects are plentiful and really quite accomplished for the budget.
