One of the most original films I've ever seen in years. It takes the off-the-wall surrealism of Jan Svankmajer, and somehow actually is able to add in some true emotion and characterization to the mix. Top marks, all around.

In which anthropomorphic animals of indeterminate species consume copious amounts of blood and hallucinogens while feuding over a RealDoll.

The very slow pace will put a lot of people off, but overall a well done film. The sound and music are wonderful, and the whole atmosphere of the film is uniquely strange and creepy.

Weird, odd, and slightly disturbing. I really don't like puppet films, if not for that my rating might've been higher.

Incredible effort, beautiful characters, but the scenes have a tendency to drag.

A western Svankmajer? Well, it is certainly similar. True, it's really slow at times, but so are some Svankmajers movies. You have to remember it was pretty much entirely made by one person, which in of itself gives it value. And in this age of over-used ideas and media stereotypes every breath of fresh air is valuable. The feelings you have while watching this movies can be sometimes compared to those you feel while watching "salad-fingers". All in all, it's a really good mindf*** surreal movie

This is a little slow in places, but if you like stop animation that's a little on the creepy side, this is a must see.

Beautifully made and wonderfully bizarre, but too damn slow. Not for anyone, but the extreme weirdos of criticker just might like it.

This film is surreal stop motion animation in a similar vein to the films of Svankmajer. The characters are chimeric, weird, and fantastical. There are scenes involving a spider that I found especially captivating. Drawbacks include crude stop motion and some scenes are a bit too long and repetitive. The creepiness did not turn off my 3-y.o. In fact, the nuances of emotions rendered and the evolution of the story kept us constantly guessing and bantering about the action and possible outcomes.
