Japan, 1966. Saya is part of a secret team destroying daemons. She is sent undercover as a student at the Yokota Air Base in Fussa-shi, Tokyo, just before Halloween. She discovers that two of her classmates are vampires in disguise just as they are preparing to attack the school nurse; meanwhile, her colleagues have discovered another vampire acting as a bartender in the local red-light district. Mostly a technical showcase by Production I.G. to demonstrate entirely digital production methods, which pretty much all anime is now made with. As such it's short and light on plot or drama, but it's got some great animation and enough of a spooky tone to vibe in. Worth a watch.

I'm sure this was impressive at the time, but it's pretty unspectacular now. Some of the action scenes are interesting but the voice acting and blend of 2D and 3D animation is just terrible. Still, at least it's significantly better than the live action adaption.

Animation is good, but the story is weak, and English voice acting is just terrible. Main character is supposed to be a vampire, but acts more like a emotionless robot.

It's brief, but looks nice for digital animation done in 2000. The English voice acting varies in quality, but works for the most part. Too bad it doesn't do much with it's setting, which is probably the most interesting part.

I don't encounter many films where I wished it was longer, but that's exactly the problem with this. The action was excellent, the animation beautiful, the story decent, but the English voices not up to par.
