Blood Tide

Enjoyable Lovecraftian horror-adventure about an ancient monster on a Greek island. James Earl Jones eats some scenery while spewing out some Shakespeare quotes. A way more subdued José Ferrer shows ups as the reluctant major of the island. And it also has the lovely Deborah Shelton, who actually might give the best performance in the movie.

Pretty bad, potentially funny horror fodder that overplays the whole setup & never really delivers on any of it's promises of brutal monster action, weird culty shit about good/evil & hot 80s beach nudity. Has some passingly interesting ideas and James Earl Jones but doesn't really do anything with them. The ending was creepy as hell but I'm guessing/hoping that was unintentional. Song in the end was great though. Something about leaving bad foreign things behind and sailing back to America.
